Is Azure Virtual Desktop the same as Windows Virtual Desktop?
Yes. Microsoft renamed Windows Virtual Desktop to Azure Virtual Desktop. It is the same service, now with more features.
What licences do we need?
Access rights are included with certain Windows and Microsoft 365 licences, including Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Windows Enterprise E3 or E5. You pay separately for the Azure compute and storage the desktops use. We check your licences before design, because they differ by user.
Will it cost less than buying laptops?
Sometimes, but not always. Azure Virtual Desktop trades device cost and support effort for monthly consumption. We model both options for your situation before you decide.
